Etv public hearing with Icasa set for tomorrow

Etv's public hearing with the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (Icasa) regarding the request to change the licensing condition for prime time news programme starts tomorrow.

Icasa spokesperson Paseka Maleka says Etv requested that they no longer want to broadcast 30 minutes news during prime time.

They also want flexibility to schedule these 30 minutes during any time during performance period [Any time from 6am to 10pm].

He says Etv says news consumption trends have changed, since 1999 when they got their current license.
