ANCYL go after Ramaphosa for backing Gordhan

African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) has criticised Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa for backing Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan.

EWN reporter, Clement Manyathela, says ANCYL told Eyewitness News that it has no confidence in Ramaphosa.

The Youth League says if Ramaphosa is backing Gordhan, he should have also supported other ANC members who have faced charges, including suspended Western Cape leader Marius Fransman and President Jacob Zuma.

They believe he is unprincipled. They believe he has double standards.

Gordhan is set to appear in court in November after the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) laid a fraud charge against him.

Other ANC leaders, including NEC member Zweli Mkhize, Chief Whip Jackson Mthembu and Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi, have also publicly said they support Gordhan.
