Meet Phuti Mahanyele, Shanduka CEO and Forbes Africa’s Businesswoman of the Year

Phuti Mahanyele is the outgoing CEO of Shanduka, founded by Cyril Ramaphosa and one of Africa’s leading investment holding companies.

Phuti Mahanyele was Forbes Africa’s 2014 Businesswoman of the Year. In 2011 Forbes named Phuti Mahanyele one of their “20 Youngest Power Women in Africa”.

In 2008 the Wall Street Journal placed her among their “Top 50 Women in the World to Watch”. In 2007 the World Economic Forum selected her as a “Global Young Leader”.

Her proudest moment was The Chinese Investment Corporation’s (CIC) purchase of 25% of Shanduka, the CIC’s first direct investment in SA.

Phuti Mahanyele is about to start a new business, details of which she’ll make public in June when she leaves Shanduka.
