How to grow your bank balance (not your waistline!) with Burger King

Grand Parade Investments struck gold when they brought Burger King to South Africa. Who can forget the snaking queues stretching for hundreds of metres during those heady first few weeks after opening? Or the intoxicating smell of their flame grilled beef patties?

If there’s one thing better than a Whopper it’s owning shares in Grand Parade Investments, the company who brought that famous burger to our shores.

“The growth prospects for Burger King are very good,” says Lampen. “Their burgers’ quality is comparable to Steers, but they’re about 30 percent cheaper.”

The rollout of hundreds of new Burger King outlets is imminent. “The profits are coming!” says Lampen.

Grand Parade Investment was, until recently, mainly invested in the gaming and leisure industry. That, however, is changing fast. “They’re selling all their slots, casinos and hotels to grow the Burger King franchise,” says Lampen.
