South African wine trumps 825 others to be crowned Best Chardonnay on Earth
It’s official. The best chardonnay in the world comes from Cape Town.
Groot Constantia’s Chardonnay ’13 trumped 825 others from 41 countries to be crowned the best chardonnay in the world at the 22nd annual Chardonnay du Monde® competition that took place this week at the wine estate of the Pasteur Institute in France.
Groot Constantia has been going strong for 350 years and is almost certainly South Africa’s oldest brand.
