Siemert Road’s Hallmark House is being transformed into a stunning glass-panelled tower of expansive residential apartments, an all-suite luxury hotel, and a vibrant mix of health, entertainment and leisure facilities. The multimillion-rand development, positioned to become the most enviable address on the African continent, is scheduled for completion in May 2016.
We asked Adjaye to explain why he's chosen to launch this project specifically in Maboneng:
Hallmark House offers offering a curated lifestyle experience, merging art, design, culture and architecture to appeal to a variety of lifestyle needs.
The building promises an on-site spa, fully-equipped gym and swimming pool while residents will also be able to enjoy The Grand Café and Rooftop Bar, as well as The Bioscope outdoor cinema, a microbrewery, Smack! without having to leave the building.
We popped inside one completed apartment to see what buyers could expect, see photos below:
We also couldn't get enough of the building's breathtaking views of the Jo'burg skyline :
Adjaye is currently working on the $360-million Smithsonian National Museum of African-American History and Culture in Washington DC, while overseeing a luxury condominium development of the city’s Four Seasons hotel.
Weekend Breakfast presenter, Azania Mosaka spoke to Adjaye about his fantastic travels and how they've influenced his work thus far and for more insight into this his latest project. Listen to the interview below:
