Deputy Finance Minister, Mcebisi Jonas, has appealed to South Africans to actively participate in taking the country forward.

Jonas said that while Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan and the National Treasury have enjoyed support from the business community, more could still be done by members of the public.

Gordhan delivered the Medium-Term Budget Policy Statement to a standing ovation from Members of Parliament before and after his address in the National Assembly on Wednesday.
