Film studios in Joburg CBD attracts local production houses

The newly launched Sky Rink TV and Film Studio provides a new exciting space for local and international production companies and is part of inner city regeneration that gives investors great tax incentives.

Executive director of the City of Joburg's Department of Economic Development, Ravi Naidoo said the studios have attracted local production houses responsible for popular shows such as Muvhango and 7de Laan.

The City is working with private developers and investors get tax incentives.

There's space for 10 production studios and is aimed at bringing in capacity for the very important TV industry and breathe life into the area.
