Gauteng heatwave continues for the next two days

Department of Water and Sanitation spokesperson, Sputnik Ratau, says 'we are currently living at the mercy of nature' as the heatwave hits Johannesburg and there is no rain.

We hope we don't get to the point where we need to look at our reserve dams so to be able to replenish our dams.

Sputnik Ratau, Water and Sanitation spokesperson

In September the department urged citizens especially Gauteng residents to use water sparingly saying water levels at dams are at worrying levels.

Victoria Nurse, a forecaster at SA Weather Services spoke to Stephen Grootes about heatwaves in Gauteng.
