Opposition parties win right to intervene in state capture court battle

(This article has been updated)

The panel of judges in North Gauteng High Court have ruled that opposition parties - UDM, DA, EFF, Cope - as well as Vytjie Mentor, can intervene in the state capture court case, with costs.

Earlier, Des van Rooyen's application was struck of the roll, as it was found to have no urgency.

President Jacob Zuma, Mineral Resources Minister Mosebenzi Zwane and Co-operative Governance Minister Des van Rooyen's legal teams are presenting their arguments in the North Gauteng High Court as to why the public protector's state capture report should not be made public.
