ANC leaders allowed others to 'rape' SA - Mavuso Msimang

2 November 2016 11:48 AM
ANC veteran Mavuso Msimang says corruption has become endemic in the ANC and that civil groups must mount pressure to root it out.

ANC veteran and Corruption Watch chair Mavuso Msimang says leaders in the ruling party have allowed others to violate and loot South Africa.

They've sat on the ANC and other important bodies just like bags of potatoes and allowed the people to rape the country.

Mavuso Msimang, Corruption Watch chair

People are actually mugging the Constitution to make money and our people in leadership seem to be totally powerless.

Mavuso Msimang, Corruption Watch chair

As marches against political uncertainty take place nationwide, Msimang says today will mark an important moment in history in the fight to defend the country's Constitution.

He says, that as a party stalwart, he will not abandoned the ANC, but will work with civil groups to reclaim the ANC and its core values.

Msimang says Zuma should have been recalled a long time ago, adding that other ANC leadership should also be purged from the ruling party.

He maintains that some corrupt party members continue to benefit if Zuma remains in office.

According to Msimang, it is difficult to expect that systemic change will come in the country with the current ANC leadership.

He has encouraged citizens to stand up against those dispossessing South Africa of freedom through corruption.

Take a listen to the profound commentary here:
