Molefe slams Madonsela for not allowing him to explain state capture allegations

Eskom CEO Brian Molefe does not support the view that the President or Eskom board should resign following allegations revealed in the Public Protector's state capture.

Molefe, who broke into tears during a press briefing, said he will take full responsibility as the CEO. He also criticised former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela for not giving him time to respond to corruption allegations on the report.

The report revealed that Molofe exchanged 58 calls with Ajay Gupta when Gupta companies were trying to buy a company that supplies Eskom, and visited the family 19 times.
