Inspector General of Intelligence applicants' CVs will be made public (finally)

After months of deliberations, Parliament's intelligence committee has finally agreed to publish the CVs of those who have applied to be the next Inspector General of Intelligence.

Murray Hunter, of the Right2Know Campaign, says the position of Inspector General has been vacant for almost two years.

This is a result of a slow delayed process by Parliament which is responsible for appointing a suitable candidate.

We took a big step forward yesterday which is the deployment that has been under a certain degree of secrecy has taken a step towards transparency because the CV's will be published like we saw with the Public Protector's process.

The public should be able to see who are the candidates, what are their credentials, skills and experience and who is this person who wants to be the next Inspector General.
