Sama's entries officially open

Entries for the annual South African Music Awards (Sama’s) are officially open from 1 November - 31 January 2017.

Advocate Nhlanhla Sibisi, CEO of Recording Industry South Africa (RiSA) saysit is a once-off three-month submission period.

The awards honour and recognise great talent in SA's recording industry and also celebrates the diversity infused in the various music genres.

Anyone who has released an album, a song, DVD commercially from the 1 December 2015 is welcome to enter.

Sibisi says they have introduced three categories to the awards, Best Africa Artist, Best African Indigenous Gospel (Clap and Tap/Zion music), and Best Afropop albums.

He says the awards are getting bigger every year which proves that South Africa has good talent.
