Initial probe rules out lit cigarette as cause of Hartbeespoort boat fire

Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the the fire on board a boat that left four people dead at Hartbeespoort Dam over the weekend.

While details remain sketchy, possible non-compliance with safety standards could be behind the tragic incident.

Davies said that investigations at this stage have not revealed any indication of a cigarette being lit as suspected when the news broke.
