IPID probe into acting top cop Phahlane witness tampering

According to EWN reporter, Barry Batemen it is alleged that Acting National Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Khomotso Phahlane has interfered with witnesses in relation to an investigation pertaining to his house in the north of Pretoria.

It is alleged that the house is worth R8 million, but Phahlane only took a bond of about R2 million. By making contact with the key witnesses he is defeating the ends of justice.

What is being investigated is his ability to afford this particular property according to his means.

If we look at the cost of that particular house, why is he only taking a bond out for R2 million on it.

Barry Bateman, EWN reporter

Bateman says Phahlane's spokesperson said he knows nothing pertaining to the case and referred him to the IPID which is leading the investigation.
