ANC slams DA for cancelling 'important projects' in City of Joburg

African National Congress in Johannesburg has raised concerns over the cancellation of City of Joburg projects which where initiated when the ANC was still in charge of the City.

Johannesburg Regional Chairperson of the ANC Geoff Makhubo, says the projects were meant to change the lives of the poor.

The cancelled projects include Jozi My Beginning, a partnership with the University of Johannesburg through which the city invested R50m in small businesses, including small container malls, the Jozi Digital Ambassadors programme and Blue Economy Project.

DA Johannesburg Regional Chairperson, Khume Ramulifho says the projects were benefiting few individuals, and were cancelled to implement projects to benefit many people.

The ANC sometimes forgets that they are no longer leading the administration, and they are of the view that they need to tell DA what to do.

These are some of the projects that the community have rejected saying they only benefit few members of the ANC.
