Giving Wings is a communications skills training company headed by a young businesswoman, Kefilwe Morobane, who is determined to assist her clients to master the art of communication.
She says she saw an opportunity when she realised that people - some being high profile executives with more than 20 years experience - struggled to articulate themselves clearly and lacked confidence in public speaking.
Some of her clients are Unisa, Tshwane University of Technology, Discovery Health, Standard Bank and the Auditor General of South Africa.
Morobane spoke to #FridayStandIn, Frank Magwegwe, about how she left her full-time job and never looked back.
I knew that I was destined for more. I knew that I wasn't being of full service in terms of what I'm here to do on this earth.— Kefilwe Morobane, Giving Wings founder
Sharing how she made the transition from being employed to being self-employed, she said she made a deliberate decision to allow the business to grow for 2 to 3 years before pursuing it full-time.
She also emphasised the importance of finding mentors who will offer advice that will make the journey seamless.
Don't do it haphazardly. I definitely encourage planning for the transition and surrounding yourself with mentors who know better.— Kefilwe Morobane, Giving Wings founder
