Political analyst calls for calm, 'ANC NEC meeting not about outcomes'

Dumisani Hlophe, political analyst, says he doesn’t think anything different will come of the ANC NEC debate about President Jacob Zuma’s future as a leader.

With a few indications I don’t think the vote of no confidence against the president will pass. Some events give that indication that it will be business as usual.

Hlophe argued that sometimes it’s not about the outcome of the meeting but about the significance of the debate.

I am convinced that either way, the ANC has degenerated to a point where their points of trying to find solutions, have gone beyond democratic processes.
