Robbie Roberts Director of Law Enforcement in the City of Cape Town speaks to CapeTalk's Kieno Kammies about the city's plans to keep the influx into the city and on the roads in check over the busy December period.
Roberts says they have a cross-departmental approach where a number of different departments play a role.
City of Cape Town is also joining up with Saps to ensure that the city is safe and secure, says Roberts.

Specific focus will also be given to our gang-related areas, and then our crime situation in general within in the metropole.— Robbie Roberts, Director of Law Enforcement in the City of Cape Town
He says the city has prioritised 16 beaches and will focus on visibility and law enforcement on those beaches, and ensure there is a focus on assisting with missing children on beaches which is historically a problem.
Liquor enforcement on beaches will be enforced.
Integrated road blocks will be in place on the roads.
