Why Sfiso Ncwane was the superstar of SA music industry

As tributes for gospel superstar Sfiso Ncwane continue to pour in, Daily Sun entertainment editor, Lerato Matsoso, takes us through some of Ncwane's key achievements in the music industry.

Ncwane became the first gospel artist to win the prestigious Record of the Year award at the 19th MTN South African Music Awards in 2013.

Matsotso says Ncwane was also one of the few gospel artists who was able to crossover to other genres. He made a song with DJ Tira and Big Nuz.

To show what kind of a person and how connected he was to his music, there were couple of shows that he was booked in, he had traveled to Polokwane and a couple of other shows. Although he did not perform but he took a microphone and he shared with his fans that 'unfortunately I'm not feeling well, I came to honour the event, I won't be performing but I'm here'.
