Alexandra toddler Evelyn Chauke laid to rest

Community members and various organisations have gathered to pay their last respect to the three-year-old Alexandra toddler, Evelyn Chauke.

Evelyn slipped from her father's grip during flash floods caused by heavy rain in parts of Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni and Tshwane last month.

EWN reporter, Victor Magwedze, says it was a very emotional morning for Evelyn's family.

They were inconsolable. They were devastated, especially when the coffin went down and they had go and throw the soil in commemoration and symbolic gesture that they are letting her go.

Her mother almost fainted.
