MEC Mahlangu clarifies confusion around late payment of health workers

Gauteng MEC for Health, Qedani Mahlangu, has promised to pay healthcare workers by no later than the 23rd of December 2016.

This comes after some community care workers complained of receiving their salaries later than usual.

Qedani said the payment delays were caused by additional workers being added onto their systems, which caused a glitch. She said there was no serious cash shortage as was reported.

Part of what we must resolve is that they must be paid every single month without any difficulties.
