Look back at racist Sodwana Bay guest house owner

When Clement Manyathela joined EWN in June 2016 he was thrown in the deep and was sent to cover a story that had the country talking.

It was a story about a racist guest house owner, Andre Slade, at Sodwana Bay Guest House who was recorded saying 'Black people were made to serve white people' and he didn't want to accommodate black people at his guest house.

I remember we visited his guest house together with KZN MEC of Tourism. He spoke extensively about how its unacceptable that blacks and whites should be mixing.

Manyathela was one of the reporters who covered the ANC NEC meeting when some members told President Jacob Zuma that he needs to step down.

That call didn't receive much support, the NEC rejected it and Mantashe come out saying they are going to dedicate all the energy towards reuniting the organisation.
