Democratic Alliance lawyers have written to SABC and its group executive of corporate afffairs, Hlaudi Motsoeneng, to confirm by close of business that they will give effect to High Court judgment.
Western Cape High Court ruled that Motsoeneng is not fit to hold any position at the public broadcaster.
Attorney representing the DA, Elzanne Jonker, says the SABC has to take action against Motsoeneng, whether or not he is an employee.
The court could not make a finding that he returned to an employee status or alternatively that he was not an employee, purely because did not have an sight of his 2011 contract, which the DA still maintains it expired in March 2016.— Elzanne Jonker, attorney representing the DA
Jonker says the court ruled that the SABC must get a legal opinion on whether he is an employee, and they are obliged to pay him any salary.

She says they have not received a response from the SABC, and the 5pm deadline given to SABC and Motsoeneng has passed.
