The Western Cape High Court on Monday ruled that Hlaudi Motsoeneng should not hold any position at the SABC and must be removed from his position as group executive of corporate affairs.

Judge Owen Rogers ruled that Motsoeneng's new appointment was unlawful and irrational.

Sumitra Naydoo (standing in for Stephen Grootes) also spoke Thinus Ferreira, TV analyst and critic, who says the public broadcaster is the bedrock of any country's media.

When things are not going well in the public broadcaster it negatively affects all other media that citizens depends on, says Ferreira.
