ANC struggle stalwarts are not happy with the party's offer to hold the consultative conference two days before the policy conference next year.
EWN's Clement Manyathela reports that the veterans want the conference it to be held separately and in order to have members focus their attention.
They seem to be rejecting the proposal from the ANC for this conference to be in the first two days of the policy conference set for mid 2017.— Clement Manyathela, EWN reporter
According to Manyathela, the stalwarts want at least 6 weeks between the two separate conferences.
The veterans also want civil society groups to be present at their proposed consultative conferences.
Last week, ANC’s national executive committee (NEC) agreed to the veterans' request to hold the conference, which they believe will help save the party.
At least 100 ANC veterans spoke up about their concerns with direction of the liberation movement under President Jacob Zuma's leadership.
