SABC 8 Vuyo Mvoko says death threat will not deter him

14 December 2016 12:19 PM

Vuyo Mvoko said while he takes threats seriously, no one would stop journos telling the truth about dodgy dealings at the SABC.

Suspended SABC (South African Broadcasting Corportation) journalist, Vuyo Mvoko, claims that there are tactics to intimidate him.

Speaking to 702/Cape Talk's Eusebius McKaiser, he said he received a message yesterday labelling him a traitor and threatening violence, for speaking up about his concerns with editorial policy under Hlaudi Motsoeneng's leadership.

What is happening now is that there's a possibility of somebody wanting to stop the truth from coming out.

Mvoko is part of a group of eight SABC journalists (dubbed SABC 8) who appeared in parliament for an inquiry into the SABC board's fitness to hold office.

A person can do whatever it is they want. I went into this thing with my eyes open and knowing that there would be consequences.
