Nsfas to open applications again in 2017

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (Nsfas) Kagisho Mamabolo says there are more than 200 000 learners who have submitted applications for financial aid.

Nsfas is currently assessing the applications from now till 8 January.

Those who have already applied will know if they have been granted study loans before the release of the 2017 matric results in January.

On the 9th of January we will then open again for those who did not apply.

Kagisho Mamabolo, NSFAS spokesperson

Mamabolo says applications will be open again from 8 - 20 January for university students. Applications for colleges will be from 8 January- 14 February 2017.

He says it is important for the scheme to give every student who qualifies for funding an opportunity to apply for financial aid.

We are the scheme that listens to the people and we are a scheme that caters for most disadvantaged communities.

Kagisho Mamabolo, NSFAS spokesperson
