2016 one of the worst years in Springboks rugby history

28 December 2016 4:37 PM

South African Rugby has described the Springboks' 2016 performance as profoundly disappointing

The South African national rugby team, Springboks, have had eight losses from 12 tests since new coach Allister Coetzee took over as coach in April 2016.

When Coetzee was appointed there was huge optimism around issues of transformation.

EWN sports editor, Jean Smyth, says Coetzee has not lived up to expectations.

Springboks and South African rugby fans just need to accept that we are not very good at the moment.

Jean Smyth, EWN sports editor

Smyth also recounts the dramatic resignation of former SA Rugby President Regan Hoskins, as one of the key changes in SA rugby.
