What we can expect from SABC after inquiry consolidates

It remains unclear whether Hlaudi Motsoeneng will return to the SABC (South African Broadcasting Corporation) after a Western Cape High Court ruling removed him from his position.

The court ruling came as the portfolio committee on communications inquiry into the board's fitness to hold office continued.

Motsoeneng has been at the center of failures in corporate governance and questionable editorial decisions during his tenure as Chief Operations Officer and Group Executive of Corporate Affairs.

702's Bruce Whifield spoke to William Bird from Media Monitoring Africa about what to expect from the inquiry.

The critical question is how we make use of the momentum that's been built up to make sure that we stop this thing from happening again.
