Heatwave sweeps across Gauteng

The South African Weather Service has warned of higher temps in Gauteng.

SA Weather Service forecaster, Victoria Nurse, says Johannesburg will remain at 32 degree Celsius until Friday, while Pretoria will reach a maximum of 37 degree Celsius on Wednesday.

Northern Cape, Free State, North West and low south of Mpumalanga will also be affected by high weather temperatures.

Nelspruit will reach a maximum of 36 degrees Celcius on Thursday and Friday.

We are expecting isolated thunderstorms mostly in the afternoons from today. It will be usual summer thunderstorms in the eastern parts of the country, but they won't significantly drop temperatures.
