Turkish police detain family of Russian ambassador's killer

Turkish and Russian government have defined the killing of Russian ambassador to Ankara, Andrei Karlov, as a terrorist attack.

Karlov was making a speech at the opening of a photographic exhibition when the 22-year-old undercover police officer, Mevlut Mert Altintas, fired multiple shots at him.

EWN Turkey correspondent, Abed Ahmed, says Turkish police have detained the family of Altintas.

Both governments have come out and labelled this as a terrorist attack. But they still haven't yet blamed it to a particular group.
