Berlin Christmas market attack confirmed as terrorism

Berlin police are still investigating an attack that took place at Berlin Christmas market.

At least 12 people have been killed and 48 injured after a lorry ploughed through a market crowded with revellers in whay is now believed to be a terror attack.

UK Correspondent, Peter Anderson, says the German Chancellor has issued a statement confirming that they believe this was a terrorist attack.

She describe it as an unspeakable act.

Anderson says a 23 year old Pakistani asylum seeker has been taken into police custody as a suspect. It is believed he is a resident of a refugee camp, at an old airport which houses about 2000 refugees.

The camp was raided on Tuesday morning, and a laptop and cellphone were confiscated.
