From marketing to manicures, Ethiopian-born entrepreneur Getty Gizaw has made her mark on the South African business scene.

Gizaw is the founder of the popular luxury nail and beauty salon Soho, offering a range of pampering services that require no appointments.

Soho has groomed top local and international celebrities and caters to those who are looking for convenience and comfort.

She describes how her nail and beauty bars offer several amenities inspired by those of New York and Los Angeles.

Gizaw began her career starting a PR and marketing company G2 Media Inc, 15 years ago in New York, working with local event organisers and talent scouts.

Our niche was to bring talent to the continent for performances and speaking engagements.

She reflects on her experiences of the local tourism industry and how she saw an opportunity to create her first Soho store in Sandton City Shopping Centre four years ago.

Gizaw says she faced some challenges starting out, but people have received her latest venture with positivity.

Soho just launshced their latest stylish branch at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town they and will soon expand in further.

She says that Soho will soon be opening a store in Maboneng, Johannesburg and in Gabarone, Botswana.
