R60 million counterfeit goods haul in Jhb CBD police swoop

Johannesburg CBD was brought to a standstill when police searched 120 shops during phase one of the search and seizure joint operation by law enforcement authorities.

The operation includes South African Police Service (Saps) Hawks, Serious Crimes Unit, Department of Home Affairs and South African Revenue Services (Sars).

EWN reporter Ziyanda Ngcobo says a man was arrested when trying to bribe officers, and two others were arrested for not having legal documents to stay in the country.
