Circumcision death toll rises to 32

As the season for traditional circumcision and initiation into manhood comes to an end, the Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) says 32 initiates have died.

Cogta spokesperson Legadima Leso says Cogta has made efforts to engage all stakeholders involved to address number of deaths during initiation process.

Leso says even though the department has tried to shut down illegal school, there are many still operating.

Many of the deaths are happening in illegal schools.
