FNB is mum on heist details at Randburg branch

FNB customers are not happy with the bank's poor communication after an unknown number of safety deposit boxes were stolen during a heist at its Randburg branch in Johannesburg.

According to EWN reporter Ziyanda Ngcobo, FNB is not saying much about the incident other than to confirm that indeed the heist took place.

Apparently, the incident happened on Sunday, but customers were only notified on Wednesday and some say they only heard about it through the media.

It is believed that the security guard on duty was held hostage for over 12 hours.

It is reported that the suspects gained entry into the bank by grinding their way through a wall, and made off with the safety deposit boxes.

FNB is really remaining mum on the details of seemingly sophisticated heist...
