Bylaws, times you may use fireworks

With the Christmas weekend set to begin, the City of Johannesburg has urged residents to respect by-laws and the times set for fireworks to be used.

City of Johannesburg spokesperson, Virgil James, says it is illegal for people to use fireworks outside scheduled times.

The City says fireworks may only be used during Chirstmas eve, Christmas Day, New Year's eve and New Year's Day.

24 December 2016-, 7pm- 10pm

25 December 2016- 7pm -10pm

31 December 2016 - 11pm- 1am

01 January 2017- 7pm to 10pm

We act on complaints that are received. Fines range from R500 to R1500.
