Mango: Flights to George won’t be hit by fuel shortage

CAPE TOWN – Mango Airways says it does not foresee that its flights in and out of George will be affected by a fuel shortage expected to hit the local airport from Thursday.

The popular Garden Route airport is expected to struggle with jet fuel supplies, with delays and reroutes on the cards for certain flights.

But Mango spokesperson Hein Kaiser says the airline is working with the Airports Company South Africa and other role players to deal with the problem.

“Mango does not expect its flights to be affected, as we will be carrying additional fuel on George flights, thus limiting fuel uplift in George.”
