Parents urged to check tertiary institutions are legit before registering kids

As matric pupils expect to get their results this week, Council on Higher Education chairperson, Themba Mosia, says parents need to ensure that their children apply to credible tertiary institutions.

Mosia says parents and students need to check before registration whether the institution is accredited with the Council on Higher Education.

You have a lot of these fly-by-nights colleges, who take advantage of desperate students and parents at the beginning of the year.

Most of them are private, because if they are public they would be known and be on the database of Department of Higher Education and Training.
