Janet Gourand is the founder of World Without Wine whose mission is “to support and inspire a life without alcohol”

They run workshops and do one-on-one coaching, social events and a support group.

We've even started Cape Town's first ever sober book club.

Janet Gorard says when she wanted to stop drinking some years ago she went to AA and looked rehab options but nothing felt right.

She says the safe limit is one and a half bottles of wine a week, though she says as a functional alcoholic she was consuming about that amount every day.

She encourages people to give a dry month a try.
