ANC NEC prepares January 8 statement in good spirit - Mokonyane

African National Congress (ANC) national executive member (NEC), Nomvula Mokonyane, says ANC members of the NEC are in good spirits as they prepare the customary message for the 105 birthday celebration and 100 years since the birth of President Oliver Tambo on Sunday.

Mokonyane says the current NEC sitting is not affected by the previous meeting in November where members debated a motion of no confidence against President Jacob Zuma.

She says the President's speech will reflect, among other things, on employment, land, economy and the state of the ANC.

It will reflect on state of organisation, emphasizing unity in action, responding and accepting that we have listened to our people. We have hurt them. We are now self-correction and reclaiming.
