Mail & Guardian senior reporter, Pauli Van Wyk, says the Gupta family is back in the news this week.
Van Wyk says the Gupta family lawyer, Gert van der Merwe, has said his client will be redeemed in the court documents to be filed later this month.
This is in relation to the explosive affidavit submitted by Minister of Finance Pravin Gordan, stating that the family was involved in R6.8 billion worth of suspicious transactions.
He says this application by Gordhan was part of an orchestrated attempt to out his clients, to kill their business. And they will prove that they are actually businessmen trying to make a living in South Africa.— Pauli Van Wyk, Mail & Guardian senior reporter
