West African leaders want Gambia President to step down peacefully

West Africa leaders are meeting in Nigeria to discuss solutions to Gambia's post-election political crisis and ways of getting President Yahya Jammeh to step down.

Jammeh has refused to step down after 22 years in power, following his defeat by opposition leader Adama Barrow in the 2016 elections.

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari is hosting leaders of Senegal, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Ghana.

They want him to step down peacefully and they don't want to resort to violence.
