Early consultative conference to restore, not rebrand ANC - stalwart

The group of struggle veterans know as the ANC stalwarts, are adamant that they want to push for the consultative conference to be held before the party's policy conference in June.

ANC veteran Dr. Sydney Mufamadi explains that the party faces challenges that require a swift and extraordinary response.

He advises that ANC stalwarts are not trying to rebrand the party, but instead are trying to return to the original values of the organisation.

Mufamadi says ANC members should be the ones to restore the party, and says the obsession with 'personalities' cannot override the importance of rooting out systemic issues.

He says stalwarts have called for a consultation process with ANC structures leading up to the national consultative conference.

This after veterans and ANC structures were not on same page about terms of the event.
