Nigeria votes to offer Gambian President Jammeh asylum if he steps down

Nigeria’s House of Representatives has voted to offer Gambian President Yahya Jammeh asylum if he agrees to step down when his tenure ends on January 19.

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari and other four West Africa leaders have been discussing ways to get Yammeh to step down peacefully for opposition leader Adama Barrow to take over.
