Lumka Oliphant sorry for insulting women while defending Minister

Minister Bathabile Dlamini's spokesperson, Lumka Oliphant, has apologised for using offensive and explicit language in her Facebook rant defending her boss over reports that she was drunk at a party event.

Oliphant says she takes full responsibility for using words that insult women, but she won't allow people to continue spreading lies about the Minister of Social Development.

This is a woman who has had four consecutive clean audit reports. No matter how hard you try to talk about those things, then there is this message that is consistent, deliberate, malicious, that is a lie.

Lumka Oliphant, Minister of Social Development spokesperson

I want to put it to South Africa that the Minister of Social Development does not take alcohol, and I hope this is going to settle it.

Lumka Oliphant, Minister of Social Development spokesperson

I'm not saying the words that were used in that post were acceptable. I take full responsibility for it.

Lumka Oliphant, Minister of Social Development spokesperson

Lumka Oliphant, Minister of Social Development spokesperson

Asked if she will resign for being unprofessional, she said she can't answer on air.

I'm not disrespecting, but I'm not going to answer that question. It's for me to take it to 134 Pretoria street.
