Oxfam: world leaders need to tackle wealth disparity through policy changes

The wealth gap in South Africa is getting worse, says Oxfam's economic justice programme manager Ayabonga Cawe.

Three billionaires in the country have the same wealth as the bottom 50%, according to an Oxfam report.

Cawe advises that wealth disparity needs to be on the global agenda, and requires policy changes and corporate strategies to address the vast socio-economic inequality.

He hopes world leaders and corporate executives will place wealth disparity front and centre at platforms such as the World Economic Forum in Davos.

It's clear that on the agenda of every country, the question of inequality is going to be a topical issue.
