South African batsman AB de Villiers says he is fit and excited to be back on the field after being sidelined for six months due to an elbow injury.
De Villiers says he is looking forward to the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
I wanna do anything possible to get there. We haven't lifted a trophy before. Yes, it's important to play other formats but mentally and physically I wanna be in a good space come 2019 World Cup.— AB de Villiers, South African cricketer
It's not easy. I have been a go ahead guy. I have never wanted to miss a game for South Africa, and I still do. But it's really tough to play all formats, especially at the age of 32 when most cricketers don't go past 35.— AB de Villiers, South African cricketer
Hopefully by then I would still be fit, and lift the trophy with the boys.— AB de Villiers, South African cricketer
De Villiers also invited cricket fans to join the Proteas in their match dedicated to supporting and create further awareness for breast cancer at Wanderers on February 4.
